Spyridon Chairetis
recently defended his doctoral thesis at Oxford University, entitled
‘Queering the Greek Television “Comedy”: Popular Texts, Dissident
Readings’. Chairetis’s general research interests and publications centre
around the intersections of gender, sexuality, embodiment, and space in
Greek media (cinema and television) and culture. He is the co-author of
‘Gender and Identity in Greece, Albania, and Bosnia Herzegovina’
(forthcoming, ABC-CLIO, 2020) and the author of ‘Only here I get what I
want: Intersections of gender, (homo)sexuality and age in Athenian porn
theatres’ (forthcoming, Themelio 2020). He is currently pursuing an
academic residency at the Arts, Sciences and Humanities Centre of
Catalonia, Spain.
