Panagiotis Zestanakis holds a PhD in contemporary European history from the University of Crete (2017) with a thesis entitled Lifestyles, Gender Relations and New Social Spaces in 1980s Athens. His research interests include the history of everyday life in post-dictatorship Greece, the history of media and representations, the uses of film and music as historical evidence and the uses of contemporary history in participatory web cultures. His work has appeared in several academic journals such as Film, Fashion and Consumption, Transfers, and Journal of Greek Media and Culture.
