Philip E. Phillis holds a PhD in Film Studies from the University of Glasgow. He has taught Film and Media Studies at the University of Glasgow and Glasgow Caledonian University. He has published extensively on European cinema and migrant representation, Greek cinema, migration and transnationalism. He is the author of Greek Cinema and Migration (1991-2016) published in 2020 by Edinburgh University Press. His research interests include transnational film discourse, small national cinemas, film tourism and migrant representation in European cinema. He currently teaches Film and Media Studies at Sciences Po Collège in the city of Le Havre, France.
