Georgia Aitaki is a PhD candidate in Journalism, Media and Communication at the University of Gothenburg in Sweden, where she also teaches the course Opinions in a Mediatized Society for Erasmus and exchange students. Her doctoral research focuses on representations of moments of social tension in Greek television fiction since 1989 and her general academic interests include the study of the politics of/in television fiction, the role of popular culture in times of uncertainty/ transition/ crisis, as well as the production culture of private television channels in Greece.
